It has been too long! Finally able to stop back at Paulie Gee's for a wonderful family dinner. It was a nice surprise to walk in on a Friday evening and find no wait for a table! Exactly what we needed due to a hangry 9 year-old.
Service was efficient and friendly. The pizzas were outstanding. And the overall atmosphere was lively and fun. We ordered a pizza for each of us so that we could share all the different options.
The pizzas we got were....
Cheese only.
Brisket (bbq sauce, aged mozzarella, fresh mozzarella & brisket with post-oven pickled red onions and a drizzle of honey-bourbon reduction).
Hot Child in the City (Italian tomatoes, rosemary, pecorino romano, parmigiano-reggiano, thinly sliced red onion, sweet fennel sausage and hot chili oil).
A wonderful dinner makes us want to be sure to come back sooner! Thanks!
This is a great local pizza spot. The pizza is fantastic but also the staff really make you feel welcome. You’re greeted when you walk in the door, your server is attentive, and they thank you when you leave. We’ve been multiple times and always have a great experience. The pizza is simple but also super flavorful. And they sometimes have movies in the back room which I have not taken advantage of but I love the idea of it. This is the kind of place that’s hard to put into words, you just need to experience it for yourself!
Me and girls had our monthly pizza trip, and it was so yummy! I got my usual Dollup Parton with the beetballs, and I swear this time was their best. It had the perfect amount of shaved garlic and basil, and those beet balls are a must try for vegans and non vegans
Excellent service and excellent traditional pie. Ordered a large pepperoni with extra cheese. Came out perfectly charred, excellent cupped pepperonis and perfect crisp to the crust. Kelly really knows how to make a pie and my wife and I will be back. Worth the hour drive from DC!
The pizza was delicious, but they didn't really use the brick oven anymore. I don't know if that was ever the case, but this was our first time here. Nevertheless, the pizza was awesome.
Really great pizza spot, we sat outdoors as they had this nice park bench set up in front of the restaurant. Also, I have been told that when the Brick Ovens are on inside it can get incredibly warm due to the heat of the ovens.
We got the Life of Brian pizza with garlic and half pepperoni - it was super well cooked, light, and crispy. I think my only gripe with it, was that it was a tad oily. We also got a Salad #1 which was filing and good, but I would say it was like 90% spinach vs other ingredients.
The service was great especially considering there was only one waitress to serve the whole outdoor area.
Definitely would come here again, and a great spot to get pizza in Hampden!
Paulie Gee's was highly recommended to me and I finally got the chance to check 'em out. Pizza was phenomenal! I ordered the Coronal Mustard (Mustard Pie, blend of red sauce and spicy brown) that was unique and delicious!
Huge space inside and a really friendly staff.
Happy to say this is my favorite spot in Hampden.
If you like thinner, yet hearty crust pizza, Paulie Gee's is your place.
The pies are mid-range in terms of price. More expensive than your garden variety pizzeria, but better value/quality than some places I've been farther south in the city. The crust had great crunch + chew, sauce tastes extremely fresh, and the mozz on top is def the good stuff.
The atmosphere is really nice to just idle with good company, especially since they've got a few interesting cocktails you can try.
If you love pizza, definitely check Paulie Gee's off your list.
